OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

1 - Theory and Knowledge Development
You'll learn the basic principles of scuba diving through self-study elearning materials and the mentoring of your instructor. Topics include how pressure affects your body, underwater breathing, equipment use, and more.

2 - Confined Water Dives
In a pool or shallow water environment, you'll learn and practice essential scuba skills such as buoyancy control, regulator recovery, mask clearing, and emergency procedures. This phase helps you get comfortable with the equipment and builds confidence underwater.

3 - Open Water Dives
This is where the fun really begins! You'll apply what you've learned in the confined water sessions during real dives in open water. Usually, you'll complete four open water dives over two days (depending on the course structure), demonstrating your skills and exploring the underwater world under the guidance of your instructor.

4 - Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, you'll be certified as an Open Water Diver. This certification allows you to dive independently (with a buddy, following diving guidelines) to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet) in conditions similar to those in which you were trained.

Prerequisites

You need to be at least 10 years old and be in good physical health. You don’t need any prior diving experience, but you should be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
